The King William Fair

Villa Finale and staff have survived another King William Fair!  Turkey legs and gorditas were in plentiful supply, along with some really wonderful crafts.  The Fair usually brings thousands of visitors to the King William neighborhood, and this year was no different.  The Fair is the primary fundraiser for the King William Association, which allows the Association to give scholarships to local students and support nearby non-profits.

The King William Parade kicks off the Fair, and is pretty entertaining.  Lots of crazy floats and hilarious entries…so much so that the King William Association has to post a disclaimer at the beginning of the parade – this year carried by long-time King William resident Mike Casey.

San Antonio’s Mayor Hardberger watched the parade from Villa Finale’s porch for the fourth straight year.  This is Mayor Hardberger’s last Fiesta as mayor and we will miss him.  We are lucky to have his wife, Linda, on our Advisory Board, so I’m sure we’ll still see him often!
